I am disturbed by the question of where all the radioactive waste should go, but at the same time, our other sources of power are limited. Oil, coal, and natural gas also produce a lot of waste that is not contained and can have an affect on the environment. At least the radioactive waste from nuclear plants are contained.
Either way, I think better sources than any of these will develop over time
I would support the broader use of nuclear energy if and only if it was efficient and safe. There are too many things that can go wrong within a nuclear power plant and the disposal of the nuclear waste is another concern I have with this subject. But if everything followed legal procedures and no corners were cut then I don't have a problem with nuclear energy expanding within our country.
Nahh, I wouldn't be in favor of it. Sure, radioactive power is probably a clean and efficient source of energy, but like josh and renea said, the way the waste is handled is what matters most. And usually anytime anything radioactive is being used, everyone gets nervous. So just research other sources of energy, and go for something less scary.
I'm not really sure which way I would go.... Like the others said nuclear waste is a big deal. But I guess if they handled that and took precautions I would support more nuclear energy....
nah. leave it up to solar energy and wind farms for now. that way there isn't a crisis about how anything will be disposed improperly and nobody will have to worry about how toxic waste is being dumped where it shouldn't be.
For me to be ok with this would only happen if it was safe and we had a safe way of the waste disposal.
i think this is a difficult issue. The need for more and more energy keeps growing so theoretically we would need a broader nuclear energy program. However, I believe we have to do more research to alternative energy. Wind and sun energy would be great sources here (in contrary to Belgium).
yes as long as we have a proper way to dispose of the waste
like others say as long as it is safe and all the waste is disposed in a good way
I would definitely support the use of nuclear energy. I have had the chance to visit the nuclear plant in Burlington, Kansas, and it is very expertly run. Its not like you hear in the news and there are just like barrels of nuclear waste laying around. They take very good care of their stuff and it is very safe.
i dont know if i support it because i dont know that much about it.
not sure
That away dirty.
Well i would go with this, but we would have to be careful. And if we disposed it correctly..
yes if there is a safe way to get rid of the waste.
i think go for it as long as they keep it under control
umm... I don't really know much about nuclear energy but I do believe on investigating new possible energy resources. I think nuclear energy would be good if we can guarantee the safety and health of our citizens.
I would not no which way to choose because i dont know that much about it. But i agree with ren leave it to the sun and wind, we have enough of that right now, so lets use that.
I think we should expand our nuclear program and also look into alternative fuels like solar energy because not only is our society depending on more energy but also that supply of other fuels are getting smaller. As with the issue of radioactive waste I think that people are aware of how serious this is and would take the proper precautions in figuring out how to dispose of it safely.
Yes and no. Like everyone else said about the issue of the waste would lean me toward no. But on the other hand with nuclear energy working for us we could supply our energy so much more efficiently.
i dont really know...
I think that the people should support less harmful sources of energy
yes I believe that we should consider using nuclear power more as long as we use it responsibly
I think the only reason to gain nuclear power is only because of the fact its the only way to inforce our country.
No it is going nowhere if we can't destroy the waste we should fund programs to produce fusion not fission.
I would not support it. We have used a weapon that size before and a time has not come that in which we have had to use it again. If we ever have to use it, it should be only in the most serious of cases were there are no more options left.
I dont think nuclear power should be used there are many other alternatives like wind, hydro, and solar power.
I think we have so many other options than to go to something that can be so harmful.
no its harmful to the farming community and it will kill us
Well if the nuclear waste is turned into energy then I don't see the problem in doing this
i would rather keep it the same. using a lot of nuclear power can be very dangerous, and too many things could possibly go wrong. i would like to feel safe in the environment that I'm living in.
i do not know too much on the subject of nuclear energy, but i would support broader use and research if needed.
