negatory morning glory
isn't that why we go to classes and try to pass them? so we can graduate?
Amen Callee! ! I have not gone to 12 years of classes to have to take one test to graduate! Why have grades if it won't matter at the end of your senior year anyways?
well put case. though the exam is meant only to re-assure that you should get a diploma, i woudn't want to take it because of what halli said. there are pros to an exam and there are also cons. i say no just because i wouldn't want to do it (being a senior)
Heck no i think that there is a difference between taking a exam and passing a class. Like halli said why would we have grades then. Some students have a hard time taking tests especially if its to graduate or not!!!
uh no!...you have to already pass eight classes so that is plenty enough.
No we should not have an exam to determine if we graduate. That is why we have been going to classes and getting grades, to determine if we know enough to graduate.
I don't think that a final exam is needed at USD 352. We attend class everyday and take separate tests to show that we are deserving of a diploma. One test should not be the deciding factor for any student graduating from high school.
why? unless you have a reason why even think about it. NO
I would not want this. Like Callee said, isn't that why we went to class all these years and why we got grades? And like Marisa said, some people aren't very good at taking tests so you might not see their true knowledge. I think its fine just the way it is, but then again after this year I don't care, they can pass it if they want.
no that is the most asinine ting i have ever heard and beside that i would probably not pass it.
NO. so what if someone dont pass and they been in high school all years long? 8 classes are enough test.
NO!! We have enough testing through our years of schooling, and we learn also from the experience of school too. so i think that the one test will not be a test of your true knowledge.
umm that would be a NO. it hasn't been like that in the past, so why should it change for our class? or whoever the seniors are the year it would change?? just passing our classes is enough to graduate.
negative. it defeats the purpose of going to class for 4 years in a row doesn't it?
It could be a good cause because it would give them the opportunity to study and reach higher levels, however, I'm not convinced it would do them that much good. I can understand some older people would have the urge to get a diploma, to get a new challenge, but would this be a high school diploma? I don't think this is worth a lot anyway. They could go to college afterwards I suppose but are they still valuable to society if they do? Other than that, how will you define the standards for an exam? I don't think it's possible to determine an exam that can be compared to the credits you have to gain in American schools...
I understand that some older people probably just didin't get the chance to study but I think it would just complecate things and make students wonder what they are going to school for.
Exams don't always really measure your intelligence. For some people it just measures how much you can just memorize, not understand, and there are others that it just shows how nervous and uncomfortable they are. The grades that a student has earned over the years, and the work that they have done to accomplish them, is all that is necessary.
I don't think an exam should be given because we go to class everyday and take test in there and take semester exams to show that we know what we learned. If we had an exam to get our diploma why don't we just do that at the beginning and not waste our time in class
No i do not think that we should have to take an exam to obtain our diploma because like everyone has said we have went to school for 12 or more years and we have 24 classes that we have to pass to graduate. Why would you want to put more stress on your seniors when they have enough to worry about already. Like what college they are going to attend, If they are going to go to college, will pass a class, how they are going to pay for college. Isnt that enough for us to worry about. By making us have to take an exam it just makes everything worse.
No, we have gone through 12 years of schooling and tests. This is enough evidence that we deserve our diplomas. We take ENOUGH test already!!!
Hah, you're giving us a question titled "More Tests", and you're wondering what we think about it? Nooooooooooo. no mo tests. nuh uh.
Heck no.. agreed to what halli, callee, g dub, well heck all of them..
I guess I'm not familiar with the EXAM EXAM.
sure i think we need more test right after i punch myself in the face 10 time and move to Belgium.
well besides some people not reading the questions i think that one final test to sum up all of the things learned would be ridiculous and pointless besides if it was condensed and random as in the questions are concerned it might be bad for some or a lot of students so no a single test to get the diploma is stupid.
i dk, that would be a good way to make sure that students actually learned what they were supposed to and were able to remember it. and if most scores were low, teachers would know they need to find different teaching methods. on the other hand, yeah it does seem kinda pointless to go thro so many years of school just to come down to one single test
There is a lot more to the hole situation then taking a test. Some kids aren't very good test takers, so are we going to just deny them a diploma after four years of hard work just because they don't do well on a test. And how bout the kids that don't work hard for four years, but they still can pass the test. It don't seem fair to me.
Nope not necessary been in school to dang long and cant pass one anyways
No, we have had enough tests throughout our classes, by the end of the year, that we look forward to the end of tests. Another test before graduation, determining if we graduate, would cause hate towards the school.
i don't think we should. some people don't alway do good on test. some one could have b average and bomb this test and not graduate.
No, we shouldn't have to pass and exam to graduate. We already have to take enough tests like the ACT,the Iowa tests, state tests, and tests in class.
No. there is no need for this if we are continuing with the grading and qualifying system to graduate.
one test puts a lot of pressure on the students and some of them do good is class and could not a test like that cause of the pressure
I don't think the grades and the test together is neccessary, one or the other will do.
Yes...I believe the state already has something in place for this, it's called a GED. It certainly falls within the realm of reason to have similar standards within the district.
No a student might have a 4.0 and fail the test and not graduate.
I think that might be the dumbest question to ask... you asked high school students if we wanted more tests. i think you knew that answer before you asked the question.
no if we can pass all our classes then we shouldn't have to take another exam
