War on Drugs
Should we decriminalize marijuana in the United States? Or will this increase the use of the drug and cause more problems for our society?
I think parents should talk about it with their children and it is up to the kid to make the right decision and make the choice on how they kid wants to live his/her life. I dont think the drug should be legalized unless it is for medical reasons. I think if there are kids who want to do it they will find a way to get it and thats their business but i dont think it should be legalized unless it is for cancer patients or anything in the medical field.
There will always be drugs in this world, and i feel that, though i DON'T smoke marijuana, if people are going to do it... tax it! I think that people will always find a way to get it, and so the government should standardize it, and control it. I still don't think that people should be going around getting high all day, but the "war on drugs" is never going to end, so go ahead and make it a profitable war:)

I know that kids do it now and I am sure they will do it later, but if it becomes legalized I believe it will become an epidemic. More people will start doing it just because it is legal and that can lead to many other things. I have seen more than one persons life ruined because they started smoking weed. People say that it is not addictive but I have witnessed people who have not been able to stop. I just think that the legalization of weed will just result in more problems then what there is now. The society should only be able to get weed if they need it for medicinal purposes.
i think that at the least it should be decriminalized. if the government actually thought about it, they would realize that they're missing out on a great opportunity to gain money from taxing it, just like they do when they sell cigarettes. i think the only reason some drugs appeal to people is because they are illegal, especially when dealing with younger people, so if they legalize pot, maybe some people wouldnt think it was cool anymore and it just wouldnt be fun for them. also if it was legal, the government could control it and regulate how it was grown, ect.
I honestly don't care as long as I am not around it. I not real big on drugs and I don't like them, but people are going to do it anyway. I do think that if we legalize it, it will be more common. That and the fact that people get mad others are on drugs and drive but then we have drunk driving accidents everyday from people who are impaired. I don't think we should legalize it because then we will be asking ourselves what other things could be legal like other drugs and stuff. If people want to do it whatever thats their business.
I think that it is not drugs that causes the problem, it is the people. It seems like if theres something that wrong someones going to do it. So what if we legalized weed. People would find another drug. With every law thats made someones going to break it. Sooner or later there will be a new drug to get high off of. I don't care care if they do legalized weed. I don't do it and if they do that it is fine. More money in are pocket. As long as they tax it very high. Mostly I want the government to control it if they did legalized weed. Trouble doesn't find people, but people find trouble.
I agree with Smitty on this one! If it's legalized then how many more people will start doing it? Drugs can ruin lives so legalizing marijuana will lead to more problems than there is now. We (the society) should only be able to get it if it's needed for medicinal purposes.
I think marijuana should be legalized. The people get it anyways when they want to have it. Also, if something is legalized there is no risk to get cut anymore, this means it is not that attractive anymore. The government should have a certain control about the drug though. Marijuana is not more a drug then alcohol. Alcohol is legal, too. It also works in the Netherlands with the legalization of marijuana.
I think there will be drugs anywhere you go no matter what. People will use it. I really think it should legalized cause it can just get you in trouble.
Ask my past neighbors. You can have any drug you want...I think legalizing it would be a bad idea, but at the same time, if someone really wants it, they will get it. Again, my neighbors...If it were to be legalized, then there may be some young people out there who will be more tempted to try it because they know they won't get in as much trouble. But whatever. The only Mary Jane I like is her Last Dance, so I am going to go away now.
I think the U.S. should just go ahead and legalize the stuff. I mean the kids are going to do it anyway. It's up to the kids to live there lives, if they wanna smoke pot oh well there regret it later....maybe. But if they do decide sell it and tax the s*** out of it. I mean alot people that already smoke it will buy it no matter what the price of it.
I don't think that legalized marijuana will be good. I believe that drug cause problems. I'm oppose to legalized drug, I believe that marijuana is the gateway to another kind of drugs. Is not enough with alcohol and cigarettes?
Making marijuana legal isnt going to make people do it more or less. They do it because they like it, so what if it is illegal, has that ever stopped anyone. I think that if beer wasnt legal today and they were considering doing it they wouldnt because people can die from it in many ways, such as alcohol poisoning car accidents. Ive never heard of anyone being killed because they smoked to much pot, i personally think is safer than beer.
I agree with tiffany . I think that it is impossible to enforce a law about marijuana, there is just too much of it and anyone who wants it bad enough will find it.
I do not really know on this one, because it can go both ways. If you do legalize it the ones who are doing it just for the thrill of getting caught would stop. however, due to recent thoughts brought to me, this would make it alot easier for children to get a hold of it. so i really cant say.

No hard core drugs! Crystal meth, cocaine, etc should not be legalized at all!
legalize it. sell it. and tax it heavily. make some more money for the government since the war is costing us so much.

i dont see why it shouldnt be legal if it isnt even as much of a hazzard to your health as cigaretts

Im on both sides, People that do drugs well just go off and do crime like painting on walls because they dont care about anybodies stuff.
